Job Summary:

As a Cognitive Science Researcher, you will conduct cutting-edge research on human cognition, perception, and behavior. You will design experiments, collect and analyze data, and develop theoretical models to understand cognitive processes. Your work will contribute to the development of new technologies and applications that improve human-computer interaction, education, mental health, and more.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and conduct experiments to investigate various aspects of human cognition, such as perception, memory, language, and decision-making.
• Collect, analyze, and interpret experimental data using statistical methods and software tools.
• Develop computational models and simulations to represent cognitive processes.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including psychologists, neuroscientists, computer scientists, and engineers, to integrate findings into practical applications.
• Publish research findings in peer-reviewed journals and present at academic conferences.
• Stay current with the latest research and advancements in cognitive science and related fields.
• Prepare research proposals and seek funding opportunities to support ongoing projects.

Qualifications:

• Master’s or PhD in Cognitive Science, Psychology, Neuroscience, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Strong background in experimental design, data collection, and statistical analysis.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, MATLAB, or R for data analysis and modeling.
• Familiarity with cognitive modeling techniques and software.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a track record of publishing research findings.
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in an interdisciplinary team.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with neuroimaging techniques (e.g., fMRI, EEG) and related data analysis.
• Knowledge of machine learning and artificial intelligence as applied to cognitive science research.
• Experience with human-computer interaction (HCI) studies and usability testing.
• Prior experience in grant writing and securing research funding.
